Sponsored by South Eastern Railway, the Kendriya Vidyalaya Tatanagar, a civil sector Vidyalaya, was established in 1987. It is located near the Tatanagar Railway station in the East singbhum District of  Jharkhand State. The Vidyalaya comes under the jurisdiction of KVS, Regional office, Bhubaneswar.  At present the Vidyalaya is a single section Vidyalaya from class I to XII. The total strength of the Vidyalaya is 544 and the total strength of teaching & non-teaching staff is 29. Since its inception the  Vidyalaya has been playing a leading role in providing quality education and personality development to the wards of the Central Govt. Employees and the children of the general public of the locality and thereby fulfilling the aims and objectives of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan.
